I entered medicine to help people during their most vulnerable moments. My years as an oncology nurse taught me the importance of listening and being present for patients, which inspired me to become a nurse practitioner. This allows me to support patients and families with compassion, connection and dignity.My background is rooted in palliative care — a field I’m deeply passionate about. I focus on managing symptoms, improving quality of life and ensuring care aligns with what matters most to each patient. Palliative care is about more than medical treatment; it’s about listening and supporting patients and families through every stage of their journey.One experience that shaped my practice was caring for a young woman with metastatic breast cancer for over seven years. Walking with her through treatments and the end of her life reinforced the importance of listening and providing emotional as well as medical support.Outside of work, I enjoy traveling with family and friends. Exploring new places and spending uninterrupted time with loved ones helps me recharge and return to work with renewed energy and focus.
