I was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by a desire to work with adults to improve overall health. I have particular expertise in interstitial lung disease. Early in my training, I cared for my first septic shock patient — a person with streptococcal pneumonia, respiratory failure and multiorgan failure who was not expected to survive. After many days of intensive care and numerous small victories, the patient recovered and was later able to take a long‑dreamed‑of cruise with his extended family. Outside of work, I enjoy fishing, hiking and camping.
