I'm a critical care physician specializing in difficult airway management, neurocritical care, cardiac critical care, health systems, health care policy and quality improvement.I have the privilege to support patients and families during life's most challenging moments. Knowing our quality improvement initiatives translate into real stories of recovery and resilience among our patients motivates me to work my hardest.I grew up in rural northern Michigan and have spent most of my life in beautiful rural areas. I am passionate about practicing critical care and providing support to very sick patients when they need it the most. I am committed to ensuring that all patients, regardless of where they live, have access to the care they need.Living in an area with mountains and snow presents challenges, but my goal is to ensure patients receive high-quality care, even if it means finding creative solutions to deliver it across our region.I find joy and satisfaction in serving others. A day spent supporting patients through their most difficult moments — whether that means providing a warm blanket or explaining complex information in a way they can understand — is truly rewarding.In my free time, I enjoy long-distance running, telemark skiing, and spending time with my family.
