I work with multidisciplinary teams in caring for patients with a wide variety of infectious diseases in the inpatient and outpatient setting.I specialize in HIV, health care-acquired infections, fever in travelers, osteomyelitis (inflammation of the bone), prosthetic joint infections and endocarditis (infection of the inner lining of the heart). My research includes skin and soft tissue infection prevention, HIV natural history and tropical diseases.I am most proud of my 21 years of service in the Navy as an infectious diseases physician prior to joining University of Vermont Health. Caring for both active-duty service members and veterans was a great learning experience and gratifying for me.I enjoy working with students, residents and fellows in the inpatient setting while caring for patients on infectious diseases consult teams. I also enjoy working with a wide variety of providers in our outpatient clinic, caring for our patients long term.
